Also
known as "Harry Lauder's Walking Stick", this unusual plant is grown
for its unique, gnarled and twisted branches which really show up
after leaves drop in winter, its terrific golden leaf color in fall
AND for its yellow catkins which hang from bare branches in early
spring before leaves emerge.
Plant in large containers for the deck or patio or plant right in the
mixed garden border.
Plants grow slowly to mature at 6-7' tall and wide in our area. In
containers, where roots are restricted, plants won't grow nearly as
large. Expect 6-12" of growth a year.
Plant in sun to light shade.
Plants are cold-hardy in Canada but don't mind our summer heat and
humidity.
