'Dura-Heat' River Birch

(Betula nigra 'Dura-Heat')

Grown for its beautiful "exfoliating" (peeling) bark AND 'Dura-Heat' has been developed to grow smaller than other River Birch AND to have virtually no summer leaf-drop!

Trees grow quickly, but mature at about half the size of other birch, making them a good choice for spots too small for larger trees.

Leaves are smaller, darker green and glossier than other birch. Leaves turn brilliant yellow before dropping for winter.

SINGLE-TRUNK birch are a perfect for limited spaces where you don't have the width available for a triple-trunk birch.

SINGLE-TRUNK 'Dura-Heat' birch grow quickly to mature at 15-20' tall by ONLY 8-10' wide.  Expect 2-3' of growth a year.

Plant in sun to light shade.

All birch have vigorous root systems.  Plant 100' away from septic systems.  Plant anywhere if you are on a sewer system.
